I have been twirling and pulling out my hair ever since I can remember. A few years ago, I went to see a hypnotherapist, and it actually worked… for a year or 2 and then I started again.  Its pretty bad, I get bald spots from it.

Where does it come from? I have no clue.  I do it, sitting down, standing up, driving, watching TV… I do it all the time. I can’t help myself. I try stopping and then in no time I’m at it again. I have tried so many things, like sitting on my hands and wearing gloves but nothing seems to help…or well stop me.

So last week I went to see another hypnotherapist. I went last Wednesday and so far I haven’t twirled or pulled my hair.  I have 3 sessions with her.  And I will also be receiving an audio recording from her as well.  There will be 2 audios.  One for the morning, a 10 minute, you’ve got this type of thing (I think) and one for at night, another I’ve got this type of audio… again, I think.

I’m going for my second session today. I so want this to work.  I hate always twirling my hair, ok, well I say that and then at the same time, I think it calms me as well.  Like I said, I really have no idea why I do it.

Stay tuned for my progress reports…

I believe I wrote about McFlurries at McDonalds before, but now I want to talk about McDonalds in general.

I USED to like going to McD’s, their fries are so delicious and their Big Macs, well… yummy!

Early this year, they were making the news about how they now have tree nuts, so they can no longer guarantee that there are no traces of nuts in the food. Before I guess, they used to hand a sealed bag with nuts or peanuts, but not anymore.

So now I can’t go. And I read and heard that A LOT of people were upset with them because it was a go-to place when people are in a hurry.  It’s easy to just drive in the drive thru and grab something quick.  A lot of families with family members allergic to either peanuts or tree nuts no longer have that option.

I don’t know why they decided to proceed with having tree nuts on their menu.   I now to go Wendy’s, a baconator is my new favorite.

Not too impressed with McD’s. First they stop making smarties McFlurry and now they have tree nuts.

Do you know how hard it is for someone with allergies to tree nuts, to find a good place to eat? A lot of restaurants are good and they will prepare and cook your meal where there are no tree nuts around. But it’s getting more and harder to find places.  Now a days tree nuts are in everything.

For example, I can’t go to starbucks and grab a muffin, because they have other products with nuts. Nut free bakeries are extremely rare.  I have to make my own cakes and muffins.  But sometimes you are in a rush and it would be sooo freakin’ amazing if I could just stop in and get a little something to eat, like a muffin.

I should also mention that I am not just a little allergic to tree nuts, but anaphylactic. I can die if I were to ingest a tree nut.  Do you know how scary it is when you start to feel your throat close up?  And you try and stay calm because you are having a hard time breathing, but let’s face it, how the heck do you remain calm when you can’t breathe???

It’s extremely scary!!!

Another Lymphatic Massage

I had another lymphatic massage this last weekend. I went to a different place and she did it different this time, well not a lot different just she barely touched me, that’s how soft she was.   The first time, he was gentle, yes but it felt like he was actually massage my lymph nodes, this time was like she was just touching me VERY softly.  VERY VERY softly.

I want to go to my normal massage place and see this one man who’s been doing it for ages. See how he does it.  I would have gone to him first but he was fully booked up.  I should have waited.

The swelling in my arm pits have gone down a bit though, so that’s good.

I’m looking at the man’s schedule (at my regular place) and he doesn’t work weekends, which sucks. On weeknights I like to go home and spend time with my CP.  She’s at daycare all day, so I rush home to be with her.  That’s why my work hours are 7-3.  I would do 6-2 or 6:30-2:30 if I could.

Anyways…. I’ll keep you all posted on my next appointment. I might have to suck it up and go on a week night.

She’s Back Baby!!!

Amanda is back baby!

How happy am I? She’s looking good, she seems to clean… drug free.  And the best part is she wants to start acting again.

Happy dance!!

I knew you could do it gurl!

So weird that I had just written about her last week, I often think, I have ESP. Too many weird co-incidences happen to me.  Nothing big but little things, like grabbing my phone for no reason and then it rings 30 seconds after.

The Ocean

Have you ever sat there and thought about the ocean? How big is it?  And now think of all the ships that have sank.  Now think of all the treasures that still lie at the bottom of the ocean.

They say only a small portion of the sunken ships have been found. A very small portion.  So think of all the ones that have no yet been found.  And probably never will.

I would LOVE to learn how to scuba dive, but I’m claustrophobic and wouldn’t be able to dive very deep. I’m ok snorkeling, don’t have any problems doing that but the thought of being deep under the ocean and very dark, I can almost guarantee that I would start to panic.

Also I’m a little scardy cat, so if a fish would pop up in front of me, I know I would freak out, even though I am not afraid of the fish. I think I would keep thinking, “what if a shark comes by to attack me”, and so a little dust would pass me and I would freak.

But I really want to try it, next time I’m down south I will give it a go. I did go swimming with the sharks once but they were the type of sharks that don’t go after humans, and I forget what they are called.

It’s one to go on my bucket list.

History holds many mysteries. So much cool stuff to be found.  To be studied.

I think if I could do it all over I would study history. Maybe become an archeologist.  Travel the world and un-dig all kinds of cool, old, fascinating things.

Here is a link that shows a few mysteries, very interesting. I could read about this stuff all day long.

The languages, the symbols, figuring how people did things in those ages or how they worked, how and what they ate. It’s so interesting.

Or finding fossils, so cool!!!

Earth has been here so long and soooo many people, and animals, have lived here. The way people did things have changed and evolved so much.  It’s just so cool to think about all that.

Massages vs. Chiropractor

I have had both and I enjoy both. Some people are dead set against Chiropractors and why?
I love getting a deep tissue massage, it hurts but then you feel soooo good afterwards, but then I feel like a few days later the pain comes back. As for chiro, it’s just a little weird when you hear the crack. But that’s it. I admit that I haven’t had too many chiro treatments but I’m actually going to change that.
Normally I get a massage every month, but the pain I have in my upper back, neck and shoulders, the pain is always there. So I decided that I was going to go a different approach.
Last week I went and got an assessment done with a Chiropractor. I really liked her, she seems pretty good so I decided to give it a go.
I actually just got back from a chiro treatment. The treatment itself goes pretty quickly. Maybe 15 minutes. But it depends for each person. She explained it to me, and had a diagram that she circled the places that need “work”. I will attach the diagram below. I like it, it shows the spine and each vertebrae and what symptoms you can have from having that “area/vertebrae”. And I have to say looking at the diagram and where she circled, yes I agree. For example the C1-C2. SO TRUE. Headaches, check! Sinus problems, check! Allergies, check! Fatigue, Check! Basically every symptom there, except for the heart conditions and high blood pressure. Don’t have those last 2. Oh wait, I don’t have arm pain, hand and figure numbness or tingling. But everything else, CHECK, CHECK, CHECK!!!
 
So I will give it a try and see how I feel. She suggested I go twice a week to begin with, then once a week for 6 weeks, and then every 2 weeks and then re-assess.
Today was my first time, so I can’t really say much. I feel fine. It didn’t hurt. I like that it’s fast, it’s not a 1 hour session. I can do it on my lunch break.
Stay tuned for more updates …

Ok so I can post the document I have as a picture so just click on “Spine” and lets hope it works.

Amanda Bynes

Can we talk about Amanda Bynes?

Am I the only person left on this earth that still likes her and wants her to make a comeback???

I love that girl and I loved her acting. She was hilarious.

Now, I understand she is or was having a hard time. We only hear what the gossip magazines write, she is/was on drugs, metal problems and broke… the list probably goes on.

Now from what I saw (and read), she seemed to have gone downhill “a bit”. She was wearing wigs, and really cheap looking ones.  I’m sure she can afford a nice, real looking wig.  She was also taking pictures of herself in her bra, and in the picture there were drugs or pipes or I don’t know what it was, in the picture.  We see these pictures and it’s easy to point the finger and say “oh she needs help” but in reality we were not there, was the picture photo shopped?  (I’m pro Amanda and hoping that they are)

She also went to court a few times for different reasons, and again, from looking at the pictures and reading the articles, I have to admit that she did seem off. It wasn’t the Amada Bynes that we watched growing up. The sweet, innocent Amanda.

So what happened? Why did she all of a sudden go “Britney”?  Did I miss something?  I can’t always be on top of the gossip “news”, so maybe I missed an article(s) explaining what happened.

Amanda, if you are reading this, please, please, please, get the help you need (if you do need help). You are an incredible woman. You’ve got this.  I miss watching you on the “big” screen!!  You’re way too talented to let it all go to waste.

My Lymphatic Massage Review

I went and got my lymphatic massage done on Saturday. I filled out all the forms and then went in the room, where the therapist then asked me a series of questions.  For this treatment, I focused on the swelling of my arm pits and told him my story.  The massage itself is really a soft, gentle rub.  No pain at all.  Because he was focusing on the lymph nodes under my arms, he did my upper body.  It was kinda weird because he has to rub my chest.  Not my boobs, but the side of them.  I felt completely safe though.  It was creepy at all.  It’s just that it was weird because it was a man and he was rubbing around my chest, a man other than Babes.  And also, it was my first time, so I didn’t know really what to expect, even though I read up on it.  Until you do it, you don’t know.

I want to go for another treatment. This time I want to do my whole body.  To detoxify, help with my cold (sinus).

The cost… it cost me $101. It’s normally $96 but there is a 5$ fee the first time.

Would I go there again? Yes, but I found out that where I normally go for my massages, there is someone there that specialized in them too.  And its $10 cheaper, so I want to go and try it there (my normal place) first before going again to the new place.  And plus, I will be able to compare.

All in All, I’m still uncertain about it. I still have swelling but then again, it takes more than one treatment to eliminate the swelling.

I am looking to book another treatment for the end of the week or next week. I will definitely keep you all posted on my lymphatic drainage journey.

Lymphatic Massage

This weekend I will be trying for the first time a Lymphatic Massage. I can’t wait and yet I am a little nervous at the same time.  I kinda know what to expect because I have done some research on it, but until you try you its still a “mystery”.

It’s a massage, they gently rub/lightly touch your lymph nodes. (I posted a link at the bottom where you can read up on it)  When you google it you get this “Lymphatic massage, also called lymphatic drainage or manual lymph drainage, is a technique developed in Germany for treatment of lymphedema, an accumulation of fluid….”

It’s a good way to detoxify your body. For me the reason, I am trying it is because, well there are all kinds of reasons, so here goes;

  • My arm pits are a little swollen, we think it might be my milk ducts that are clogged, so for this, they can gently massages the lymph nodes in my arm pits.
  • I’m always sick lately, and they say it can boost your immune system
  • Angioedema, I have had this since I gave birth (2 years ago), I wrote about it before, it’s random swelling of the face and hands, aka, pain in the butt… and this massage also benefits the auto-immune system (I’m praying it does)
  • I feel like I am always stressed, they say it’s good for relaxation
  • Cellulite, I have a little bit on my thighs, a little not a lot.

So basically I want the deluxe package. I need it all done.

My appointment is for tomorrow morning. I really can’t wait. I want to go now.

Oh and if you get one done, they say to drink PLENTY of water. You might notice that I am using “they say” a lot, this is what I have researched.  After tomorrow I will be able to actually comment on it.

Also, “they say” that some people feel the water leaving their body, or the water being drained from their body. I made a weird face when I read this, I thought, did they pee???  Lol. Every person will respond to the massage differently.   I’m so freakin curious about it.  I read a lot of sites, but here is one that I found a lot of info on.

Tomorrow can’t come fast enough!!!!!
